Right now the puppies are chilling in the afternoon sun as I take a breather to write about them. I set up a nice tall pen that is 10′ by 10′ that gives them plenty of room to play and poop at leisure, and I’ve made a shaded bed with an old grocery basket that they’re pretty happy with.
This weekend was long and fun and I’m currently functioning on a little less sleep than usual. π The puppies got to make some new people and dog friends, and were hits all around. My adult dogs were frightened of the crazy storm that blew through on Saturday, but the puppies stayed in the basement and were completely oblivious to the thunder.
Six weeks old is the general timeframe I put on switching them to dry food, so over the past couple days I’ve been wetting their food less and less until this morning I gave it to them with just a tiny splash of buttermilk. It makes for a much crunchier mealtime which is funny but a much faster process from served to empty. Zoe still jumps in to finish it off for them if they’re not quick about it.
I hate to do this to you again, but we have plans for next Sunday (Resurrection Day!) so I will post their seven week update on Monday again. Hopefully not as late (or boring) as this one is. π Have a lovely week!
